What is NKBA and
CKD?
You
may be wondering just what all these acronyms really mean.
They mean more than you think, especially when it comes to
the quality of your kitchen cabinets. NKBA stands for National
Kitchen and Bath Association, which is the golden standard
for kitchen and baths today. As a member of the NKBA, we represent
industry standards and are backed by the association.

Above: Member of National
Kitchen and Bath Association Certificate
We belong to this national organization which governs
the kitchen business and supplies support for the dealers. |
Furthermore, as a CKD™, or a certified
kitchen designer we represent much more than your run of the
mill cabinet shop. I, D. Lester Kuhn, became a CKD when the
concept was first incepted. The initials are highly coveted
in the industry as the requirements are high. Those requirements
include knowledge of building, construction, mechanical and
electrical systems, building codes, safety and environmental
regulations and new products, as well as the ability to write
specifications that can be interpreted by plumbers, electricians
and cabinet installers.
You may be wondering why should
I choose a CKD? CKDs are trained to help you achieve
what you really want in your new kitchen. We work directly
with homeowners as well as with the other contractors involved.
We also respond to difficult spaces with creative solutions
and help you truly understand your choices during the planning
process. It is also required that we keep up-to-date on new
equipment and construction materials, as well as building
codes and regulations. Certified Kitchen Designers understand
budgets and can explain the pros and cons of products as they
relate. We are in the business of fulfilling expectations..
and dreams!
